Cultural Conversations from the Couch
Event description
Cultural Conversations from the Couch is an invitation to slow down, sit together, and listen deeply.
Hosted by a proud young Kabi Kabi woman Brianna Hanson and a respected Jinibara Elder Aunty Zeitha Jalamala Murphy, this event offers a safe and welcoming space for truth-telling, shared stories, and respectful questions.
Together, we explore culture, Country, history, and hope—through honest conversations that invite understanding, connection, and healing.
This is not a lecture or a performance—it’s a real, grounded yarn from the heart. Whether you’re curious, unsure, or already walking alongside First Nations people, this is a space for all who are willing to listen and learn.
We’ll gather in a yarning circle and refreshments will be provided.
Please note: Access to the venue is via a short set of steps.
Bring an open heart, your questions, and your respect.
Held close to NAIDOC Week 2025, this event reflects this year’s theme — “The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy” — by bringing together two generations of strong First Nations women. Through this intergenerational dialogue, we honour legacy, celebrate strength, and look to the future with vision and hope.
This event proudly hosted by The Little Red Cottage/Forest Heart ecoNursery.
