Description

Learn from Senior Wurundjeri Environment Educator Chris Hume about the significant history of the land of which you are walking and learn about the connection between Country and Wurundjeri Culture.

This walk is being held at Garambi Baanj, which means "laughing waters" in the traditional Woi wurrung language, and is a place of vital ecological and cultural significance. In the words of the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung Cultural Heritage Aboriginal Corporation: "it is one of only a few known remaining iuk (eel) traps on Country once found the length of the Birraung (Yarra) and the Maribyrnong". It is a central part of the Garambi Baanj/Laughing Waters Cultural Precinct, operated by InPlace. Learn more here: https://inplace.org.au/laughing-waters
