Training opportunity: Culturally Responsive DFSV Practice in the Multicultural Context

Reserve your spot (places limited) for face-to-face training on Culturally Responsive DFSV Practice in the Multicultural Context. This training is for frontline workers and managers within the mainstream specialist DFSV sector, who work with victim-survivors from migrant and refugee backgrounds.

This workshop has been developed by the NSW Multicultural Centre for Women’s and Family Safety (The Adira Centre) at SSI and is delivered in partnership with Domestic Violence NSW. You can learn more about the work of the NSW Multicultural Centre for Women’s & Family Safety here: Adira Centre.

This workshop will support you in understanding:

·  How domestic, family and sexual violence (DFSV) manifests in a multicultural context

·  How intersecting factors such as gender, culture, migration experiences and systemic barriers shape victim-survivors’ behaviours and choices around disclosure and help-seeking

·  SSI’s culturally responsive model of practice, and how to apply key elements of this model through interactive activities and a case study.

• Registration: 9:00-9:25 a.m.

• Training Time: 9:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. (including morning and afternoon tea breaks, and lunch).

Total Training Cost: $33 (+$1.33 fee) - includes catered morning and afternoon tea, lunch, and tea and coffee.

Tickets are non-refundable. You may transfer your ticket to another person within your organisation if you are unable to attend training on the day.
