Event description

Curiosity, Connection, Collaboration

As the way we live, work and play continues to grow and evolve as we move through the 21st century, one trend is clear: The future is digital. We’re seeing professionals working online, students learning online, and friends and families connecting online as we use the plethora of digital tools now freely available to us.

As we see this shift towards digital, we are also seeing a rift emerging in our communities, between those with access to technology, and those without.

To ensure a truly connected society, we need to take steps to ensure that we all have equal access to technology. Equal access to technology is a big topic to tackle and takes into account the cost of, and access to, hardware and software, access to digital networks, digital literacy and confidence and digital education.

With equal access to technology cited as a proposed 18th Sustainable Development Goal for the United Nations, it’s time we turn to Generation Z, our digital natives to see how they might solve the challenge.

In this online workshop we will be getting hands on with an action packed design sprint to look at how we can use technology in new and exciting ways to connect and collaborate now and into the future.

For this session, students will be challenged to think big and think differently as they innovate and create to solve the challenge of equal access to technology for all those in their community.
