CURIOSITY: Collagraph Printmaking
Description
Try something new.
CURIOSITY is Creative Curiosity's monthly exploration series where we experiment with a different creative process, material, or hands-on craft. Each gathering is an invitation to learn something new, play with unfamiliar tools, and discover the joy of creative exploration.
You'll receive step-by-step guidance while having plenty of room to experiment, ask questions, and explore at your own pace. The focus isn't on making something perfect. It's about trying, learning, and enjoying the process.
This Month
CURIOSITY: Collagraph & Experimental Printmaking
What happens when you turn everyday objects into printmaking tools?
Cardboard, lace, yarn, bubble wrap, and all sorts of unexpected textures can leave some pretty interesting marks.
In this hands-on workshop, we'll explore collagraph printmaking by building textured printing plates, experimenting with color, and pulling prints by hand. We'll also play with simple stamping and rolling techniques to create repeating patterns, layered compositions, and unexpected combinations.
I'll have a collection of prepared printing plates ready to explore, along with materials for making your own.
We'll spend our time testing ideas, changing colors, layering impressions, and seeing what happens when we lift the paper.
All materials provided. You'll leave with a collection of printed experiments and a few new ways of looking at everyday objects.
Who It's For
CURIOSITY is designed for adults who enjoy learning, making, and exploring new creative processes. You'll receive guidance throughout the workshop while having plenty of room to experiment and develop your own approach.
FAQs
- Where can I park?
There is plenty of parking in the back of the house, down the hill. There is also parking across the street (on the other side the crosswalk) as well as on either side of the 4-way stop.
- Can I bring snacks?
Absolutely! Feel free to bring a snack or drink to enjoy while you create. Just keep food and drinks away from the printing materials. Paint-covered fingers and snacks aren't the best combination. 😂
