Imagine walking into a room where tight textured hair is understood.
A room where you don’t have to explain your hair. Where you can ask questions without feeling judged. Where you feel safe, seen and surrounded by people who simply get it.
That’s what Curls Connection: Textured & Seen is all about.
This is more than a hair event. It’s a welcoming community space for people with tight textured hair, as well as parents and carers wanting to better understand and care for the hair of someone they love.
Together, we’ll talk about texture, identity and the lived experiences that shape how people feel about their hair. We’ll unpack common myths around tight textures, explore the foundations of hair care and bring it all to life through practical education, honest conversations and live styling demonstrations.
This event centres people with tightly textured hair while also welcoming parents, carers, friends and family members who genuinely want to understand and support them.
You don’t need to share the same hair texture to have a reason to understand it.
Come as you are. Bring your questions. Leave feeling more informed, more confident and truly seen.

- Is it for me?
This session is for people with tightly textured hair as well as parents and carers who want to understand it better. It's not a hairdressing class
- Can I bring a young child
Young people aged 10 and over are welcome when the session is relevant to their own hair
The adult plus young person ticket includes one young person per adult.
- Do I need to bring anything?
No, just yourself and your curiousity and questions.
- Where do ticket proceeds go?
100% of ticket proceeds will be donated to WA Mums Cottage
