Event description

Curriculum-aligned and STEM experiences with Tech Schools and Science and Maths Specialist Centres

Hosted by Sustainability Victoria’s ResourceSmart Schools program, Sustainability in Schools Month is a free online professional learning series taking place every Thursday in November 2024.

Tech Schools and Science and Maths Specialist Centres deliver single or multi-day curriculum aligned and immersive STEM learning experiences to all Victorian schools

The programs delivered by Tech Schools and Science and Maths Specialist Centres aim to build students' capabilities and awareness of climate change, sustainability and renewable energy.

Tech Schools have access to a Clean Energy Equipment Fund to purchase equipment that helps students develop workforce skills valued by renewable energy industries.

Ecolinc is a Science and Maths Specialist Centre that delivers the Coastcare Victoria Schools Kit, a program focused on caring for marine environments for students and teachers from Years 5 to 8.

Join Octavia Bryant, Senior Policy Officer, and Ronlee Korren, Policy Advisor from the Department of Education, along with Nicole Mason, Assistant Director at Ecolinc, as they share:

  • What Tech Schools and Science and Maths Specialist Centres do.
  • How Tech Schools and Science and Maths Specialist Centres can support teachers' work and be integrated into school curriculums.
  • An overview of Ecolinc's Coastcare Victoria Schools Kit.
