About this webinar:
Children’s lives are changing. New technologies are twinkling their way into children’s lives at the speed of light! Building a curriculum that has foresight into the lives children live now and will live into the future requires us to play with new technologies without losing sight of what we know about the importance of nature and sustainability in quality curriculum.
Dr Red Ruby Scarlet and Natalie Cordukes share their collaboration of thinking, planning and practice by providing examples these STEM knowledges with children birth to five years. This webinar shares practice examples from a current teacher-research project undertaken by the sparkly educators fromPaddington Children’s Centre. It brings together natural, cultural, and digital technologies in everyday experiences that collect and express children’s experiences of belonging in their local community. You’ll see beautiful footage and images of children in the park, with tiny robots, exploring the influence of astronomy on everyday life, and storying how they understand their thinking processes! Red and Natalie illustrate how they have been influenced by Indigenous STEM experts and how anti-bias approaches are entwingled throughout the curriculum.
