Event description
The Port Adelaide Government Reserve was established in the ‘New Dock’ in Oct 1840. The northern end is dominated by the State Heritage listed Customs House and Telegraph Office buildings. Using historic and rare images, the development and use of these and adjacent buildings (past and present) is described, together with their role in establishing local government services. The recent history of the buildings is also reviewed. Light afternoon tea is included.
