"Cut" From the Archive: Tu B’Av Collaging and Cardmaking
Event description
Join the Wyner Family Jewish Heritage Center (JHC) at Lehrhaus to celebrate Tu B’Av, the ancient Jewish holiday of love, connection, and new beginnings. Once a day for matchmaking in the time of the Temple, Tu B’Av has become a joyful celebration of all kinds of love. Make a collage for your bashert(s) (destined sweetie), your friend(s), your pet(s), or yourself! The JHC’s archives are full of ephemera waiting for you to encounter and, using copies of these materials, create a special card that connects you to a long line of Jews in love. Join us any time between 7 and 9 p.m. for crafting, but come by 7 p.m. to learn more about Tu B’Av and the role of archives in recording and celebrating special moments in the Jewish calendar.
