Join us at Whangārei Art Museum for a 3-part visual arts programme designed especially for Home-Schooling Rangatahi (Youth).

Develop skills in stencilling, cutting, printing and collage assemblage in 3 studio sessions guided by our experienced arts educator John Pusateri.

Thursday 19th November, 10am-12pm
Workshop 1: The Stencil Studio

An introduction to stencilling as a graphic tool to build complex patterns and multi-colour visual compositions.

Thursday 26th November 10am-12pm
Workshop 2: Cut Paper Monotypes

Developing cut paper monotypes, followed by inking, masking and pressing.

Thursday 3rd December, 10am-12pm
Workshop 3: Collage Assemblage

Bringing everything together with monotypes, test print, stencils and cut-outs and hand-drawn elements to create a collaged artwork.

These sessions are perfect for young people interested in creativity and the arts. As well as learning practical skills, there will also be the opportunity for participants to view Whangārei Art Museum's new collaborative exhibition by painter Seraphine Pick and sculptor Isabella Loudon, which opens on the 21st of November.

To maintain a quality experience, capacity is strictly limited to 10 spaces.

Ages: Suitable for ages 12-17

Cost: $45 for 3 2-hour workshops

Maximum capacity: 10 students
