It involves detecting, managing, and recovering from cyber threats to minimise impact.  The Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) emphasises that strong cyber resilience practices—such as regular health checks, board engagement, and adaptable response strategies—are essential for organisations to operate securely in today’s complex digital landscape.

• Immune-system inspired cyber resilience by design
  Speaker: Dr. Shari Finner (TNO)
  Dr. Finner will discuss TNO’s research on cyber resilience, presenting their novel “self-healing for cyber security (SH4CS)” software. Inspired by biological mechanisms, this technology enables digital systems to autonomously recover from cybersecurity incidents.
• DFNDR: an integrated managed security service for SMEs, delivering proactive and adaptive cyber defences
  Speaker: A/Prof Abu Barkat Ullah (University of Canberra)
  A/Prof Ullah will introduce Project DFNDR, which delivers adaptive cyber defences for SMEs through an integrated managed security service and threat intelligence sharing platform.
• Cyber Epidemiology: Scalable Analysis of Malware Propagation - Epicentre.dev
  Speaker: Dr. Tim Lynar (UNSW)
  Dr. Lynar will present a novel approach to cybersecurity using epidemiological models to analyze malware propagation, offering insights into collective cyber risk factors and prevention strategies.
• The cloud conundrum: are financial institutions heading for a catastrophic disruption event?
  Speaker: Prof Frank den Hartog (University of Canberra)
  Prof den Hartog will explore the risks of cloud concentration in the financial sector, focusing on potential disruptions caused by the growing dependence on a few cloud service providers.
