Cyber123 Workshop 2 - Practical Cyber Security for your Business

The Sydney Startup Hub  invites you to Cyber123 Workshops. These workshops will help you to take the necessary steps to improve the cyber resilience of your business. Workshop 1 is an introduction to cyber security for those with no previous experience. Workshop 2 will provide a deeper dive into the steps you need to take to secure your business from cyber risks. You can choose the workshop most suited to you!

These workshops are complimentary for all NSW-based startups, scale-ups, and small businesses. Workshops will be jam-packed with tools, guides, and practical insights to help you develop a plan that is tailored to protect your business from cyber-attacks.

Workshop 2: Practical Cyber Security for your Business

As an owner of a business, you play a big part in the Australian economy. As you have worked hard to grow your business, you probably have increased your connection with the digital world. However, with this connection comes exposure to cyber-attacks.

Tackling cyber security issues presents a threefold challenge: it’s expensive, it’s complex, and it requires expertise.

Cyber123 is a practical program designed by CyberCX to help businesses develop a plan for cyber security in their organisation. From sole traders through to organisations with hundreds, this program is an accessible way to get better at cyber security.

 This two-hour workshop will cover:

• What does cyber security mean for your business?
• Understanding cyber security and your business
• How to use the Cyber123 Canvas cyber security plan
• How to practically assess and address your cyber risk
• Quick wins and best practices - Actions you can take now that will help secure your organisation

Learning Outcomes

This workshop will provide participants with practical examples of immediate actions to improve their security and help them develop a longer-term strategy. Participants will be guided in building their own cyber security plan with a focus on the identification and protection of assets. Upon completion, participants will have an actionable plan to begin protecting their businesses. Participants will also receive the Cyber123 Canvas and Guidebook, as well as a login to the online course material.
