The 2024 Band Extravaganza

The Band Extravaganza is an annual event that celebrates the wealth of talented musicians of all ages in and around the Huon Valley and will feature some fantastic local community bands. The Huon Valley Concert Band will start things off, followed by the Junior and Senior Band of the Cygnet Area Concert Band.  After that the dance floor will be cleared as the 20 piece Huon Valley Swing Band take the stage and play the Big-Band hits of the 40's, 50's and beyond. Hobart's premier swing dance troupe 'The Moonlight Aviators' are providing a free swing dance lesson on the day and will be putting on a show of their own as well as dancing to the swing band when the mood takes them.  There will be a raffle with great prizes that will be drawn throughout the day.  Food and Beverages will be available and this is a licensed event.
