Cygnus Arioso presents Mendelssohn Octet
Description
Some music has an extraordinary ability to bring people together.
At the heart of this program is Mendelssohn’s magnificent Octet — one of the great masterpieces of chamber music. Written when Mendelssohn was just sixteen years old, it radiates youthful imagination, brilliance and joy, while asking eight musicians to listen, respond and create as one ensemble.
Chamber music has always been at the heart of Cygnus Arioso. It is a tradition built on communication, trust and collaboration — a musical language passed from one generation of musicians to the next.
This performance brings together musicians at different stages of their artistic journeys to share that language through one of its most remarkable works. Across rehearsals, ideas and experiences are exchanged, individual voices find their place within the ensemble, and the music gradually becomes something created and owned together.
We are delighted to bring this special group of musicians together and look forward to sharing an afternoon of exceptional chamber music with you.
