Get ready to dive into a day of vibrant energy and celebration at the Thingyan Festival, hosted by the CITYZEN and Myanmar Student Association (MYSA)! Join us as we ring in the Burmese New Year with an unforgettable fusion of water fun, mouthwatering Burmese food, and spiritual traditions.

Date: Saturday, 12 April 2025

Time: 10 AM to 1.30 PM

Venue: Buddhist Society of Victoria

Price: $5

Whether you’re here to splash around in the iconic Thingyan water fight, indulge in delicious Burmese dishes, or connect with the deeper meaning of the new year through Buddhist practices, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Feel the rush of excitement as you join in the water festivities—throw on your best festival gear and prepare for some friendly water fights, or take a moment to relax by our water blessing stations where you can reflect and set intentions for the year ahead. With traditional Burmese dishes, your taste buds will be just as immersed in the experience as you are.

And it’s not just about the fun—it’s about meaning. Throughout the day, Buddhist rituals and meditation sessions will offer a chance for spiritual renewal and blessings for the new year.

50% of the profit will also be donated to a cause of your choosing! So bring your family, your friends, or come solo—you won’t want to miss this incredible celebration! Tickets are limited, so grab yours now, and let’s make this Thingyan Festival one to remember!

Note for Lunch Dana: Our resident monk Ajahn Sadaro is allergic to shellfish.
