Event description
Join Us for Dance for Trees: A Trans-Tasman Movement Class
When & Where?
- In-Person: MFP in Gisborne/Tairawhiti hosted by Michele Franks from Movement First Pilates.
- Online: Via Zoom, hosted by Michele Franks or Marg, ensuring we are all connected, no matter the distance.
Dance for Trees is an inspiring movement initiative that spans across the Tasman Sea, uniting participants from Far North Queensland to the scenic hillsides of Tairawhiti, New Zealand. Together, we'll engage in a Qoya-inspired movement class, embracing the philosophy that through movement, we remember. As we dance, we recall our essence as wise, wild, and free—mirroring the pristine nature we aim to protect.
Why Join? Your participation helps us raise vital funds for tree planting and forest restoration. We're proud to partner with ClimateForce in FNQ and The Women's Native Tree Project Trust to focus our efforts on locations close to our hearts, including the ancient Daintree Rainforest and the lush landscapes of Tairawhiti.
What is Qoya? Qoya combines yoga, dance, and movement to help us reconnect with our essence. No prior dance experience is required—just a desire to move and connect with community for a planetary cause.
