Dance of Life
Event description
Event description
The Dance of Life is an event for Gympie locals to explore ecstatic dance in a safe alcohol and drug free space. Located in Pie Creek, it's a cosy venue with a great atmosphere in an old Queenslander schoolhouse (close to the Pie Creek Hall) able to accommodate up to 25 dancers.
Hosted by the Portal for Natural Wellbeing Foundation, the aim of the dance is to provide space for those who enjoy unstructured dance inspired by Gabrielle Roth's 5 Rhythms. Lightly facilitated by a volunteer and fellow dance lover, the Dance of Life is a once a month opportunity to move to a wide selection of music from classical, through world music to techno in five different moods. Here you can choose to tune into your body to release stress, let go of your mind and just let your body show you the way to connect to your joyous divine nature naturally.
Dancers are briefed on the concept of the different dance moods and what they are for, and there is a sharing circle at the end of the dance for connection and friendship.
