Dance Temple - The Sacred Breath
Event description
Dance Temple - The Sacred Breath
We gather in the Dance Temple on
Saturday 4 October | 6–9PM
Located above Escape Cafe, New Plymouth
The fourth in a series of 5 monthly dances
Step into the Dance Temple, where movement softens into meditation.
This journey calls on the element of air - the breath that expands our lungs and connects us across time.
Every inhale is a remembrance: the air you breathe today has been breathed by the ancestors before you.
Through gentle movement, breath, and spacious soundscapes,
we invite the body to expand, the mind to quiet,
and the spirit to feel carried by air itself.
A dance of presence, remembrance, and expansion
WHAT TO EXPECT
6:00PM - Doors open for gentle arrival, connection, exploration of the space and a blessing on arrival.
6:30PM - We spiral into circle with Peppermint Tea to cleanse and clear our airways.
From here you are invited into your dance and then guided back to land gently with a sound journey.
8.45PM - We close with integration and shared supplied kai to nourish body and spirit.
🖤 Stay for the whole journey - it’s designed to hold you in full.
No experience needed. Just bring your whole self.

🌟 What is Dance Temple?
Dance Temple is a sacred act of co-creation -
between body and soul, sound and silence, self and source.
It is a ceremony of liberation. A dance of remembrance.
A space where movement becomes medicine and presence becomes prayer.
We gather in common{unity},
moving with curiosity, play, and presence.
We return to the wisdom of the body, to what is ancient and true.
The space is slow, spacious, and sensual -
awakening all the senses: 👁👃👅👂🤲
Held by the Elements
🌍 Earth - rooted knowing, stability
🔥 Fire - transformation, passion
🌊 Water - emotion, surrender
🌬 Air - clarity, breath, presence
✨ Ether - the mystery that holds it all
Together, these elements guide the unseen magic in the space.
A few house rules (so the magic can flow):
• Clean dancefloor: No alcohol. No phones. No talking.
• Let your body speak.
• Move with love. Respect the space - and each other.
All expressions of Human Beings are welcome,
but please note this event is not suitable for children.

What is Somatic Dance?
Somatic Dance is an invitation to move freely - no matter your age, experience, or rhythm. It’s a space to express, release, and return to yourself through movement, music, and presence.
Here, we dance to feel - not to perform.
You’ll be gently held in a container that encourages deep listening to your body, emotions, and energy. There are no right steps - only your steps.
Come as you are. Move as you feel. Every cue is an invitation, never an obligation
This is not your average dance class.
No choreography. No pressure. Just pure, embodied exploration.
