Online Digital Screening

Dancing Our Stories brings together three films exploring the powerful relationship between dance, culture and identity.

Across different cultural perspectives, Melbourne Hopak, Sheltering Gestures and MĀHŪ reveal how movement can carry history, preserve traditions and express deeply personal connections to community and belonging.

Distinct in their stories and cinematic approaches, the three works share an understanding of dance as something more than performance — a way of remembering, connecting and passing stories from one generation to another.

Dancing Our Stories celebrates the people, histories and lived experiences that give movement meaning.

Presented as part of the 2026 Inspired Dance Film Festival Digital Suite.
