The Ecology of Care and Resources: Sustaining Artistic Lives

In this workshop, we explore the interconnected ecosystem of care and resources that sustains an artist’s life and practice. Moving beyond transactional models, we will examine how relationships, community, and personal well-being shape sustainable artistic careers. Through guided discussions, interactive exercises, and self-reflection, participants will map their own ecosystems—identifying the networks of support, financial tools, and structures that contribute to long-term resilience.

Exploring the Personal and Political

Using personal memories and political events as source material, we will explore methods for delving into movement and text. Participants are encouraged to tap into their theatrical and kinesthetic imagination, and to work intuitively and collaboratively to generate gutsy theatrical dance work. 

Participants will need:
Plain paper (3 or more pages per person, can also use a personal journal)
Pen or pencil
one or more of the following: Crayons, Magic Markers, Colored Pencils
