Daring to Hope: 30 years of queering the Uniting Church
Event description
For over 30 years queer people in the Uniting Church have been joining together and daring to hope for inclusion, welcome and celebration. Whether it's joining the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras or other Pride festivals; meeting church leaders; offering pastoral support; educating and informing; sharing queer affirming worship; or campaigning for marriage equality. LGBTIQA+ people and our allies in the Uniting Church came together to set up a national network at the first Daring conference in Adelaide, June 1994. This year we are meeting online to reflect on what we were hoping for 30 years ago; to discuss current queer concerns in the Uniting Church; and share our hopes and plans for the future.
