The Heart of Gold International Short Film Festival is proud to announce an event of a different kind, showcasing the most spine-tingling, suspenseful, and downright terrifying short films from around the globe. Set to take place on 1 November 2024 at AICM 26 Channon Street Gympie, this night of cinematic horror and thrill is guaranteed to keep audiences on the edge of their seats.

Dark Heart is a carefully curated evening dedicated to celebrating the darker side of filmmaking, bringing together a collection of thriller and horror shorts that have been handpicked for their unique storytelling and ability to evoke a range of emotions from fear and anxiety to sheer exhilaration. The lineup features a diverse array of filmmakers from across the globe, each with their own distinctive style and vision of the macabre.

"We are thrilled to present Dark Heart as a special Heart of Gold event to tie into Halloween," says Festival Director, Nicole Harper. "It's a chance for audiences to embrace their fears and explore the depths of human storytelling through the lens of horror and suspense. Something quite different for our Festival, which usually focuses on heartwarming stories."

This will be a hauntingly immersive experience, complete with themed decor and a chilling atmosphere that complements the on-screen terror. Audience members are encouraged to dress up and get into the spirit of the evening.

The Heart of Gold International Short Film Festival is committed to fostering a community that supports emerging and established filmmakers.
