A teenage prodigy from Dar es Salaam, DJ Travella is redefining African electronic music with his futuristic take on Singeli — a breakneck Tanzanian genre known for its frantic tempos and raw, unfiltered energy. Blending hyperspeed rhythms with glitchy, otherworldly melodies, his sound has caught the ears of avant-garde icons like Arca and Björk. With a cult following rising fast, he’s taken Singeli from the streets of Dar to the global stage, lighting up clubs and festivals from Berlin to Jakarta, São Paulo to New York.
