Handbags of Hope: Help Us Share the Joy This Christmas!

We need your help—over 50 handbags filled with Christmas joy are needed to gift to the Darwin YWCA.

Please join us in spreading joy to women and children in our local community.

Every year, A.R.T Your Life hosts an event to gather handbags and fill them with self-love and self-care items for women in the Darwin YWCA's Domestic and Family Violence and Connected Families Programs. We give the handbags to the YWCA, who then gift them to the women during their in-house Christmas party.

This year, they have more women in their programs than previous years, and we need 50 handbags that are overflowing with generosity. 

Event Details:

• Thursday, 28 November  
• 2 Kahlin Ave, Larrakeyah 
• 4.30 - 7.30 pm (come anytime in that timeframe to drop donations off or stay and help us fill the handbags)
• Snack platters, tea and coffee and some bubbles provided by A.R.T Your Life

What to Bring:

• Handbags ranging from trendy backpacks and shoulder bags to beach and woven bags (we just ask that they are in good condition and suitable for a young person)
• Skincare, makeup, hair care, and treatments  
• Brushes, scrunchies, and hair accessories
• Fashion jewellery, perfume, and body sprays 
• Wallets, clutches, toiletries, Christmas treats, and ornaments
• Beach towels, toiletries and kids toys. 

Can't Make It ? 

No problem .....you can drop donations off anytime between now and the event. Or we can pick them up from you. Or if you are strapped for time, you can donate $$, and we will go shopping for you. The Process:

Over the years, we have found that the best way to ensure all handbags are filled similarly and with the same value is to sort the donated self-love items into 'same, same' piles and in lines. With your help, we then create an assembly line to fill each donated handbag with something from each of the piles.

The more, the merrier. Please help us spread the word about this very important event by letting your friends, colleagues, and family know.
