Dave Whalley Goalkeeping - October Holiday Goalkeeping Clinic.

Welcome to the DWG October Holiday Goalkeeping clinic. Over 3 mornings all the players will learn about the various techniques required to improve as a young goalkeeper.

Sessions will include:

  • Shot stopping from various angles/Dealing with crosses
  • 1 v 1 situations/Distribution techniques
  • Dealing with the back pass/'Goalie Wars'
  • Plus, much more!

What you need to know:

Venue: John Curtin School Oval in Fremantle

When: 5th, 6th and 7th October 2021

Time: 8 am – 12 noon. Please arrive 10 minutes before the start on each day.

Ages : 11 yrs - 16 yrs

Cost: 

Early Bird - $175 for all 3 days if booked before 20th Sept. $65 per day also if booked before 20th Sept.

Normal Price - $195 after 20th Sept for all 3 days or $70 per day.

Please bring shin pads, plenty of fluid, sun cream, healthy snack, and a good attitude!

About Dave Whalley Goalkeeping
DWG is a leading provider of goalkeeping coaching to several clubs, schools, and individuals in Western Australia. These sessions cover playing levels from grassroots, amateur, NPL goalkeepers to the professional level.

Designed to create the best learning environment, our goalkeeping clinics are run by Dave Whalley and assisted by coaches who have been mentored using the DWG methods. The sessions provide age appropriate coaching to maximise each goalkeeper’s potential. It also encourages essential social skills along with understanding the importance of respect and of giving 100% effort in every session.

Dave Whalley is currently one of only a small number of full time coaches in Western Australia.

'Since opening up as a full time business in 2016, I am very proud of the work that has been accomplished. The results achieved at DWG hopefully demonstrates the evidence of the meticulous and methodical approach taken to help all goalkeepers to be 'the best that they can be.''

Currently he runs the DWG academy during the week at venues in Fremantle and also Subiaco.

Over 35 young keeper's attend these sessions on a weekly basis.

All levels of goalkeepers are catered for and the players are put into relevant groups with their progress monitored on a regular basis.


His other roles include:

  • Head of Goalkeeping at the South Coast Baptist College Football Academy.
  • Goalkeeping coach at NPL club Inglewood United for the past 6 yrs. During this period 1st team goalkeeper Alex Dunn has won the WA NPL goalkeeper of the year for the last 3 seasons.
  • Goalkeeping coach for the Subiaco junior and women's teams who play in the WA State league.
  • Weekly sessions with Pararoos International Chris Barty. Along with Junior Matildas and Adelaide United goalkeeper Miranda Templeman.

About the John Curtin School Venue

  • Unfortunately we do not have any access to the school toilet facilities. The nearest ones are a 2 minutes walk at The Fremantle Arts Centre.
  • There is plenty of parking.
