Bloody hell, building an art car internationally is a pain in the ass! We set an ambition deadline but are now making the call early.

In order to make sure we do a damn good job, we're pushing back the build until 2026. To make this a possibility, we'll also be pushing back this incredible fundraiser burn to September as well. If you've purchased a ticket, you can either get a refund through Humanitix or just hold onto your ticket until September and then get a refund the day before - whatever works best for you!

Ahoy!

8 years ago, the Flying Dutchman set sail across the plains of Tankwa Karoo, South Africa. Along with many other mutant stages, the Flying Dutchman brings together thousands of creatives from across the world to participate in AfrikaBurn, a 10 day burn event in the heat of the South African desert. 

Three years ago, a band of Australians joined the Dutchman, and fell in love. As their numbers grew, these Aussies hatched a plan - to dream bigger, create more, and gift a second ship to the Dutchman’s fleet — and thus Davey Jones’ Burn was born! This new stage will be a converted car/truck turned into a pirate ship with DJ decks, LED sail, and space for 20+ people to dance on the stage and bounce it around as we drive through the desert. It will not belong to anyone in particular, but will be a gift that can be shared and loved by future generations of dreamers who attend AfrikaBurn - yourself included if you so desire!

From March 21st to March 23rd come join us at a magical property for this AfrikaBurn fundraiser. This will be run as a miniature Burn - if you haven’t been to a Burn before, please read up on the 10 Burn Principles. Anyone who would like to gift an artwork, a DJ set, an idea, a first born child, or anything that nourishes the soul, please reach out to us! 

This is a pirate themed Burn for a pirate themed ship, and we will be doing PIRATE NIGHT on Saturday with a group photo of all the pirates who attend, so please bring your best outfit and parrot! The property is located near St Albans (2.5 hours north of Sydney, 1.5 hours from Central Coast, 5 hours from Canberra) and exact location will be sent to ticket holders before the event.
