Signed Books Make Sweet Gifts Featuring David Zinn
Event description
Nothing is sweeter than gifting a signed book to the reader in your life! This holiday season, we are thrilled to host several incredible authors for an in-store signing of their books. This is a unique opportunity to chat with some of your favorite Michigan authors and get a personalized gift for someone in your life (or yourself)!
Street artist and author David Zinn will be in-store at our Ann Arbor location from 11:00am-1:00pm. This is an open-house style event, so feel free to come at any point during this timeframe.
While you’re visiting, make sure to take yourself on a mini scavenger hunt of our store to find some of David Zinn’s artwork, which is featured on our walls!
We love seeing who is planning to join us! Your RSVP helps us prepare to host you.
About the Author:
Since 2005, street artist David Zinn has been creating his most celebrated work in a medium that washes away in the rain; his drawings are improvised using chalk, charcoal and found objects, such as cracks in concrete or leaves on the ground. Although the installations themselves are temporary, photos of his light-hearted underfoot creatures are shared every day on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Reddit and countless blogs and news outlets all over the world, accumulating more than four million followers on social media and resulting in the publication of several popular books including Underfoot Menagerie, The Chalk Art Handbook, and Chance Encounters: Temporary Street Art by David Zinn.
Mr. Zinn is inspired by a desire to place cheerful art in places where it is not expected and to embrace the temporary nature of all things. Furthermore, by drawing in public with easily obtained “childish” materials, David hopes to demystify both the creation and the appreciation of art, reconnecting people with the joy and confidence they used to create art when they were children.
