In this day-long workshop we will start with basic 1-1 connection practices which establish deep moment-to-moment presence as the foundation for how we receive others and express ourselves.

Often what emerges from this foundation of presence is a greater capacity to experience and enjoy each other and ourselves just as we are, and a relaxation of the social masks and defences which limit our aliveness and sense of belonging and connection.

For example while making eye contact with another you might feel an impulse to withdraw and a familiar shyness. Rather than pushing through or following the impulse to change or hide that, the invitation would be to bring that into connection, name it, welcome it, explore the experience of it together and how doing so affects the connection. 'I notice an impulse to withdraw and a tighness in my belly. It feels alike a relief to name it and make space for it, how is it for you to hear that?' 'Oh, I notice I feel softer towards you hearing that and more connected' .

Building on this foundation, in the practice of Surrendered Leadership we will invite you to connect with a group of people in a similar fashion: trusting what shows up in your experience as a place to lead from, owning what you are experiencing, vulnerably sharing the impact of being with others, opening to genuine curiosity about the experience of others in the moment. What emerges is very often a surprising level of safety, compassion, connection and aliveness even with relative strangers in a short time and a growing sense of self understanding and acceptance.

Ruth and I have each been training and exploring extensively in this practice for several years. We love it and are passionate about building community around it.

A note on care and suitability

Transformational Connection can bring you into contact with feelings or patterns that may feel unfamiliar or challenging. Participants are expected to notice their own limits and take care of themselves during the session.

This event may not be suitable if you are currently feeling easily overwhelmed, highly stressed, or destabilised, or if you’re unsure about your capacity to self-regulate in a group setting. If you’re uncertain, you’re warmly invited to get in touch beforehand to talk it through. It may be that we can offer you a one-to-one session if a group setting feels like too much of an edge at present.

Supporter – £60
For those with financial ease who wish to support others in need.
Standard – £50
For those meeting basic needs comfortably, with some discretion around non-essentials.
Supported – £40
For those who would appreciate a lower rate.

If none of these are accessible, you’re welcome to contribute what you can (suggested minimum £15).
