In this experiential webinar, Barry Bittman discusses the foundational value of creative musical expression from psychosocial, biological and genomic perspectives. From rudimentary percussion to dance to song, the opportunity to create music collectively clearly influenced the evolution of civilizations.

Dr. Bittman explores the intersects of creativity, group-based creative musical expression and genomics while dispelling the mechanistic myths surrounding music making that have been promoted over decades. He reviews the core scientific underpinnings for music making as a promoter of well-being.  Dr. Bittman references his core scientific research that demonstrates the benefits of creative musical expression as a modulator of group interaction, behavior and biology.

About Barry Bittman, MD

Barry Bittman, MD is a neurologist, author, international speaker, researcher and innovator who serves as a national healthcare transformation leader focusing on population health and analytics. 

He is the Chairman and CEO of the Yamaha Music and Wellness Institute, a non-profit 501c3 organization dedicated to the scientific investigation and clinical amalgamation of active music participation strategies for the purpose of enhancing quality of life for individuals of all ages.

Widely published, Dr. Bittman has served as Principal Investigator for several peer-reviewed scientific publications including two molecular research studies focusing on stress reduction on the genomic level utilizing novel creative music expression strategies.  

Dr. Bittman is the author of multiple books and over 250 published articles.  He has presented his research at leading conferences throughout the world. Dr. Bittman has received several patents for his work in human physiology and disease exacerbation predictive models. He also serves as the Chief Population and Quality Officer for the Inland Empire Foundation for Medical Care in Riverside, California.
