Drum Circle Facilitators Guild Learning Circle with Philip Oyoo aka Phlexible

It's time for another DCFG Learning Circle!

Philip Oyoo AKA  Phlexible is a Kenyan community arts facilitator, cultural practitioner, musician, music producer and co-founder of community-based nonprofit Kibera Creative Arts (KiCA) and founder of Social enterprise Fiti Tours. Phlexible has years of experience using music, African drumming, dance, storytelling, and creative arts to bring people together and create meaningful cultural exchange.

Through KiCA, he has worked with local communities, children, international visitors, schools, and organisations, creating spaces where people can connect, learn, express themselves, and experience African culture through participation rather than observation.

Philip is passionate about community empowerment, cultural exchange, inclusive tourism, and the power of rhythm to connect people across backgrounds.

Kibera Creative Arts (KiCA) is a community-based arts initiative in Nairobi, Kenya, using music, African drumming, dance, visual arts, storytelling, and creative expression to connect people and create opportunities for learning and cultural exchange.

Founded in 2019, KiCA works with children, young people, local artists, schools, community members, and international visitors through workshops, performances, cultural experiences, and community programmes.

KiCA is guided by the Swahili proverb “Sanaa ni kioo cha jamii,” meaning “Art is a mirror of society.” We believe art reflects who we are, tells our stories, brings people together, and can be a powerful tool for education, community empowerment, cultural exchange, and positive social change.
