Description

Join ForestPlanet and our good friends from Tree Friends United for an afternoon of clearing invasive vines from the lovely grounds of Glen Echo Park. English Ivy, kudzu, porcelain-berry, and Japanese honeysuckle are taking over the joint, but we're coming together to fight back. Help the forest at this treasured location thrive.

MANY HANDS = LIGHT WORK, so please take a few hours and join us on the afternoon of November 14th!

It's free to attend, but RSVPs are required so that we can properly prepare. Donations to ForestPlanet and Tree Friends are warmly accepted.

Tree Friends United is a group of stalwart citizens who are concerned with the accelerating spread of invasive species overwhelming our parklands, roads, and neighborhoods. As volunteers, we assist the National Park Service (NPS), the county, and residents to remove invasive vines that are smothering trees and the plants that are destroying native ecosystems.

Things to Bring

We'll have some tools and supplies, but it's best if you come prepared:

  • Long sleeve shirt and work gloves

  • Hand clippers

  • Small hand saw

  • Long-handled lopper
