Deaf Australia Online Summit

Deaf Australia is hosting an online national summit to bring together Deaf community members, advocates, interpreters, professionals, organisations and stakeholders from across Australia.

The summit will provide a space for discussion, collaboration and community input on key issues affecting Deaf people today and into the future.

Participants will have the opportunity to contribute ideas, share experiences and help inform future advocacy priorities, position papers and guidelines.

Purpose of the Summit

• Engage with members

• Collect firsthand experiences and stories from members

• Increase collaboration between Deaf Australia, members and stakeholders (service providers, community groups, advocates)

• Enhance Deaf Australia’s public profile

• Raise key issues in Deaf Community

• Help identify advocacy priority plans (short- and long-term)

• Initiate the development of position papers and guidelines

• NDIS reforms and systemic issues

• Education

• Accessibility and communication

• Healthcare
