Event description

Whether you're self published or traditionally published, your author business is a business. You'll need to do a lot more than write if you want your books to succeed.

Dealing with Entrepreneur Overload: Using Tools To Simplify Non-Writing Tasks will feature four authors at all stages of their writing careers sharing the tools they use to simplify non-writing business tasks like time management, graphic design, and social media marketing. Our panelists are Sagan Morrow, Raven Oak, and NM Kerr.

Dealing with Entrepreneur Overload: Using Tools To Simplify Non-Writing Tasks is part of Storycrafting Sessions: Publishing, a one-day virtual conference hosted by the Weeknight Writers Group. Check out the full panel schedule for more information.

Our panelists

Author photo of Raven Oak

Multi-international award-winning speculative fiction author Raven Oak (they/them) is best known for their epic fantasy Boahim Trilogy (Amaskan's Blood, Amaskan's War, & Amaskan's Honor) and their space opera, Class-M Exile. They have almost two dozen short stories published in various anthologies, and they’re even published on the moon! Raven spent most of their K-12 education doodling and writing 500 page monstrosities that are forever locked away in a filing cabinet.

Besides being a writer, they’re a disabled, nonbinary artist who enjoys getting their game on with tabletop games, indulging in cartography and etymology, and staring at the ocean. They live in the Seattle area with their wife, and their three kitties who enjoy lounging across the keyboard when writing deadlines approach. Their hair color changes as often as their bio does, and you can find them at www.ravenoak.net.

N.M. Kerr
is a medium-aged adult living in the East Bay of California with her partner and cat. She works in tech, has too many obscure degrees, and is passionate about nerdy pursuits. She’ll read anything if she’s bored enough, but she prefers sci-fi, fantasy, and all combinations thereof. She is a founding member of Space Fruit Press, is at least 80% tea, and has more houseplants than she thinks.

Sagan Morrow
is a multi-passionate creative and author of polyamorous romantic comedy novels. She writes fun, lighthearted stories about self-discovery, self-love, and alternative relationship styles. When she isn't writing unconventional romance novels, Sagan does personal fulfillment coaching for people of all backgrounds, teaches anti-hustle productivity to solopreneurs, and takes to the stage as a burlesque dancer. Tune into the Author Diary Entries (formerly Indie Author Weekly) podcast to get the behind-the-scenes scoop about her writing journey, or connect with Sagan on Instagram or Threads (@Saganlives).
