Deck the Rooms for Refuge 2025

A day to experience the magic of Christmas.

Deck the Rooms for Refuge is back for 2025 - our much-loved, sell-out event is set to be full of festive spirit and beautifully decorated homes. Eight New Plymouth properties open their doors and share their unique Christmas style, from nostalgic and traditional to bold and contemporary.

Each property is a celebration of creativity, offering inspiration for your own festive season. Our Christmas market will be held at an indoor venue as part of the tour and there will be a variety of amazing silent auction packages up for grabs. Did we mention our local cake creatives have been back in the kitchen cooking up delectable cakes which are also up for auction.

More than just a tour, this event raises vital funds for Taranaki Women's Refuge, supporting local women and children in our community affected by domestic violence.

New for 2025: We're excited to include a visit to the picturesque Okurukuru as one of the eight properties on this year's tour. All ticket holders are invited to enjoy a cup of tea or filter coffee free of charge. Guests also have the option to book in for a relaxed set menu lunch to be served between 11:30am - 2:00pm for $30 - but spots are limited to 60 guests only, so get in quick.

Please note: This is an 18+ event

Access to properties: This year, Deck the Rooms will be using a wristband system for entry to properties. To collect your wristband, you must bring your ticket (either printed or by showing the QR code on your phone) to the Taranaki Women’s Refuge office at 19 Eliot Street, New Plymouth during one of the designated collection times listed below. Wristbands will not be available at the properties, and without one, you will not be permitted to enter. A short collection window will be available on Saturday morning of the event for those travelling from out of town. Please ensure you set aside time to collect your wristband in advance to avoid disappointment.

Thursday 13 November 3.30pm – 6.30pm 19 Eliot Street, New Plymouth

Friday 14 November 3.30pm – 6.30pm 19 Eliot Street, New Plymouth

Saturday 15 November 8am – 10am 19 Eliot Street, New Plymouth

Every guest should have their own ticket. You may collect wristbands on behalf of others provided you have their ticket, they are then your responsibility. If wristbands are lost between collection and the event, they will not be replaced.
