Decolonizing Theater Basics

What is colonization? Why do we need to decolonize? And what does that even mean? We know that any and all work in anti-racism and dismantling white supremacy must start at the source - join us in unpacking how colonization is at the foundation of today’s societal challenges.

Groundwater Arts virtual workshop: Decolonizing Theatre Basics, will examine the nuances of colonization (classic, settler, & neocolonialism) and how they intersect with how we live and work. The workshop will entail both active and passive activities, videos, and discussions, creating radical access points for everyone of all levels to leave empowered.

This workshop was created with theatre makers and industry in mind - but we welcome anyone who wants to deepen their understanding of colonization today!
