With Arkadien just around the corner, everyone knows that a cheeky wee 're-connect' party is usually what the Doctor orders, so we thought what better thing to do than keep the vibes rolling and dive back straight back into the groove for a Sunday session of delightful beats and pieces!

We’re taking over Common Room on the 16th of November for an afternoon of pure electronic bliss, deep grooves and warm basslines.

Not My Sister, A-On, Lunaya and Shogun will bring their medicine bags of beats to help you on your way!

NOT MY SISTER

Not My Sister is a house music DJ born and raised in a small town in northern Italy, now based in Wellington, New Zealand. She launched this project in 2024 and has since been lighting up dance floors across the country. You may have caught her sets at festivals like Twisted Frequency, Kiwiburn, Earthbeat, CubaDupa, Arkadien, and more.

She’s also the founder of Funky Fridays, an event series dedicated to celebrating underground electronic music, a space built to connect people through rhythm, energy, and a shared love of the dance floor.

Heavily influenced by funk and disco, with a love for vocals and all things groovy, Not My Sister delivers high-energy, uplifting sets full of passion and playfulness. Her sound blends melodic basslines with soulful, tech, garage, and deep house sounds, always keeping the dance floor moving.

Hailing from Montreal, Lunaya's deep love for dancefloor culture and cutting edge sound is at the forefront of her mind when she steps up to the plate. Her sets blend the freshest UKG flavours with some steezy basslines crafted to get you moving. Her mixes are curated to bring you along for the journey, allowing space to breathe and to flow before dropping straight back down into the lower end spectrum. Expect style,swag, and sensational beats.

From the slums of Shaolin comes SHOGUN a brother from the hood who is always on the dance floor was inspired by local legends dipped his feet into DJing at the age of 43 with a deep love for House you will always find him in his sound room grinding away perfecting his art and forever searching for unknown or old school tracks

From the rolling hills of Waipukurau to the vibrant cities of Auckland and Sydney, A-ON’s musical journey is as dynamic as his roots. After years soaking up the beats in these iconic cities during the late 90s and early 2000s, this farmer boy turned DJ returned home in 2005 and began spreading the magic of house music.

A-ON’s passion for classic house tunes shines through in every set, where he blends deep, soulful beats that make you want to move and feel the rhythm from head to toe. With an infectious energy and love for music that speaks to both the body and soul, his sound is the perfect soundtrack for any party or occasion.

Whether it’s the laid-back vibes, underground festival or pumped up party, A-ON’s heart beats to the sound of house music and he’s ready to share that love wherever the dancefloor calls!
