Event description

Do you want to turn your academic research into mainstream articles for publications such as The Conversation, smh.com.au, etc?

This online session is relevant to anyone looking to translate their research into articles for mainstream media.

Collating the insights of several editors with his own experiences as a former journalist at the Sydney Morning Herald, Sacha Molitorisz from the Centre For Media Transition will discuss general writing strategies, essential ingredients of opinion pieces, how to structure mainstream articles, how to forge a relationship with editors, and why appearing in the mainstream media is much less scary – and more meaningful - than appearing in social media.

The first half of the session will involve Sacha sharing his experience and insights* and the second half will be a hands-on session where you will have the chance to implement his advice by planning and starting work on your own mainstream article.

    * please note, this part of the session will be recorded
