Deep Listening: Glow

A sauna sound experience inspired by warmth and the cosiness of autumn.

For our final Flux Session of the year, we’re collaborating with YOYO Yard in Brighton’s North Laine for an evening combining deep listening, sauna and creative reflection.

We’ll begin with a 45-minute sound journey, experienced from yoga mats and cushions, with blankets to keep you cosy. Field recordings of crackling fires and crunchy leaves will blend with warm synths, harmonically rich instruments, warming songs and rhythms that gradually build as we move towards the heat.

You’re invited to experience the journey in your own way. Lie back and listen, meditate or respond creatively using the art materials provided.

We’ll then open the space for 75 minutes of free flow, allowing you to move between the sauna, cold plunge, hot tub and creative courtyard at your own pace.

There will be no talking inside the sauna, where nature recordings will play through the space, allowing you to drop more deeply into the heat and sound. Elsewhere, you’re welcome to talk quietly as the music becomes warmer, more rhythmic and a little more social.

There’s no set route and no pressure to move. Rest, draw, write, listen or travel between heat and cold as much or as little as you like. Delicious herbal teas and cold water will be available throughout.

Blankets, yoga mats, cushions, tea and art materials will be provided. Please bring swimwear, a towel and any personal creative materials you’d like to use.

This is an intimate 18+ event with limited capacity. Participation in the sauna, hot tub and cold plunge is at your own risk. Each participant will need to sign a waiver form before joining.

We’ll be capturing content during the event. Please let a member of the team know if you would prefer not to be included.
