Deep Restore Yoga (January 2026)
Event description
Join Mel for a Restorative Yoga practice. A slow-paced mediative style of yoga that encourages deep stretching and relaxation. The goal in Restorative Yoga is to bring your body and mind into a state of stillness. Using bolsters (or pillows), blankets, straps and blocks as support for the body. This practice is less about pushing the edge rather it is the time to rest, regenerate and restore, as it signals the parasympathetic nervous system (our rest and digest centre) to activate.
Studies have found this style of yoga helps reduces stress and anxiety, improves sleep quality, and regulates the nervous system, an important aspect to facilitate overall health and wellness. If you're often engaging in a stronger style of exercise or lifestyle, this is a great way to introduce more harmony and balance.
Two hours means we include a short meditation and you move into the parasympathetic phase - the place that moves us from fight and flight - and helps improve our general health and wellbeing.
Bring your own bolster or firm pillows and a blanket is good too. Mats and blocks provided.
Suitable for all levels, 16yrs+.
