Description

Writing asks more of us than talent and discipline. It asks us to sustain a relationship with our creativity over time.

Every writer knows periods when the work feels effortless, and others when self-doubt, perfectionism or the demands of everyday life make it difficult to hear their own voice. Rather than treating these experiences as problems to overcome, this workshop explores practical ways of working with them.

Designed for writers at any stage who want to deepen an existing creative practice, we'll reflect on the habits, beliefs and conditions that support creativity, and those that quietly get in its way. Through conversation, short writing exercises and shared reflection, we'll explore different approaches to building a practice that is both sustainable and personally meaningful.

Alongside writing, Kavita will guide participants through a gentle, optional movement and breath practice designed to help settle attention and reconnect with the body as part of the creative process. No previous experience is required.

Together, we'll explore:

●      practical ways of responding to creative resistance and self-doubt

●      building a writing practice that fits the realities of your life

●      balancing routine with experimentation and play

●      approaching criticism with curiosity rather than fear

●      writing with greater empathy; for yourself, your characters and your readers

This workshop is less about finding the "right" way to write, and more about discovering the conditions in which your own creative practice can flourish.
