Mindgardens is pleased to present the eighth edition of the MindLabs Psychosis Webinar series for 2025, Defining Rehabilitation Psychiatry: What is it and how do we do it well?, presented by Dr Nicholas Burns.

 

Speaker

Dr Nicholas Burns is chair of the Royal Australian New Zealand College of Psychiatrists' Section for Social, Cultural and Rehabilitation Psychiatry, and clinical lead in rehabilitation psychiatry for the NSW Ministry of Health. He is interested in the social determinants of mental health, and in particular the relationship between homelessness and mental illness. Dr Burns consults to several homeless men's shelters in inner Sydney. He also works clinically as a forensic psychiatrist with extensive experience in forensic rehabilitation, working initially in secure settings and more recently in community based forensic rehabilitation. 

Dr Burns is a member of the NSW Mental Health Review Tribunal's forensic division, and an honourary senior lecturer at the University of Sydney's Rural School of Medicine.
