Degree of Separation presents: Filmmaking Workshop
Description
Got a script you've been sitting on? Want to act? Like making props? Have a closet full of forgotten costumes? Trying to self-teach a film-making skill? or you just want to connect and create something fun with like-minded individuals? Join us for a filmmaking weekend where you can collaborate in writing, directing, shooting, acting in and/or editing short films over 2 days.
Degree of Separation (D.O.S) is a new community event collective in Sydney, which aims to bring together artists across all mediums with each event spotlighting a different principle of design and a different creative medium.
This event is a prequel to our short film festival in March 2024! The central motif for the film submissions is the word 'Balance' and we've set a challenge (to aid in creativity) of having to film everything outdoors. At the workshop, you can incorporate your interpretation of the word into your film & film it outdoors, if you'd like to enter your short film into the festival.
We will be kick starting the first session of our filmmaking weekend with a short form video creation crash course, hosted by special guest and content creator April (@AprilClucks) and then we will get you to team up to start making your film ideas come to life.
Anyone is welcome to enter regardless of if you've got a professional background or not. Bring any gear you have access to even if that's just your phone camera and ideas.
