Degrowth Community Connector

A day to learn about and meet people running community groups and campaigns rooted in degrowth and liberation.

Arrive from 11.45

12-12.45pm: What and how degrowth conversation

1pm: One minute spiel from every group in the room (We will also have a space on a wall for people to put more information so that 1 minute is enough of a taster)

1.30-2.30pm: Lunch and chatting to people from projects you want to know more about

2.30-4pm: Offers and needs market - a facilitated session for people to offer and ask for support for their group/project

Why this event:

It is important for those of us dedicating our time to making change to learn from others doing the same. There are so many things we can learn from each other, and tangible support we can offer each other, as well as learn from constructive political disagreements.

After the degrowth festival in March, we heard from many stall holders that they were too busy chatting to interested members of the public to go and meet other stall holders, so we thought we would make a specific event just for that!

Who is this event for:

Any degrowth aligned group on kulin country/melbourne. Especially the groups who held stalls at the Degrowth Festival, and any group that would like to hold a stall in a future festival.

Each group can have as many members as you want at the event, however only one person per group will be able to share in the sharing section at 1pm.

If you are not part of a group you can come along to see what groups are out there that you might want to join. However, this event might not be for you, but there will be another Degrowth Festival next year!

Register even if you can't make it! 

We will have a board with information about all of the groups in our degrowth aligned community, so even if you can’t come along please register so that we can include information on your group. We will also create a giant calendar for the next 12 months, so any events you want added to the calendar you can let us know.
