Dementia is one of the top 2 leading causes of death in Nillumbik. There are many things we can do to reduce our risk factors for dementia and improve our cognitive health.
This session with provide valuable insights, education and resources for people living with dementia, their care partners and broader community.
Key Speakers
Dr Courtney Shelton is a consultant geriatrician and research fellow at Austin Health's Medical and Cognitive Research Unit. Courtney has been involved in research and education in the field of neuroscience for over 18 ears and has worked for almost a decade in public hospitals in Melbourne's northeastern suburbs serving the community she and er family live in. Courney is passionate about dementia prevention and ensuring people living with dementia receive holistic, person-centred care prioritising their individual needs and identity.
Specialist Aged Services at Holstep Health are experts in the field of dementia and memory changes. Their allied health team will explain how you can stay independent and continue doing what matters to you with a diagnosis of dementia.
Morning tea will be provided and there will be time for questions and networking with caregivers.
