Description

Dementia is now the leading cause of death in Australia.

While there is currently no cure, there are many things we can do to reduce our risk factors and support lifelong cognitive health.

Join us for an informative Dementia Awareness Session that will provide valuable insights, education and resources for people living with dementia, their care partners, families and the broader community.

Key Speaker: Dr Courtney Shelton

Dr Courtney Shelton is a Consultant Geriatrician and Research Fellow at Austin Health's Medical and Cognitive Research Unit. With more than 18 years of experience in neuroscience research and education, and almost a decade working in Melbourne's north-eastern public hospitals, Dr Shelton is passionate about dementia prevention and delivering holistic, person-centred care that recognises and respects the unique needs and identity of every individual living with dementia.

Participants will gain a greater understanding of dementia, learn about risk reduction and brain health, and discover practical strategies and supports that can help people live well with dementia.

Morning tea will be provided, with opportunities for questions, discussion and networking with caregivers and community members.

Everyone is welcome.
