Demystifying Child Sexual Abuse & Incest for Allies with boi_kestrel

Child sexual abuse (CSA) and incestuous abuse is largely stigmatized, even by those seeking to support survivors. Those who were victimized sexually in their childhoods often experience issues relating to disclosure, support, and understanding from their community. This class seeks to break through the stigma and openly discuss the prevalence & effects of CSA and incestuous abuse. Participants will learn:

• Who CSA affects and why that question requires analysis along gendered and racialized lines

• Theoretical errors that violence-prevention activists & allies make in analyzing CSA

• Framework for handling disclosure from a friend or loved one

• How to support people in their life who may have experienced CSA

This is a class centered around allyship, support, and information. It is open to people of any knowledge base/experience level.
