Demystifying Intersex - Seniors Week 2025 - Better Lives
Did you know, people with innate variations of sex characteristics, or intersex people, make up at least 1.7% of births – about the same as the number of twin births? You may have a family member who was born with, or later discovered, a variation in their body that doesn’t fit with the typical characteristics we expect a male or female body to have. People call this by different names, but whatever we call it, we often aren’t clear on exactly what it means, and the media isn’t a great help!
Join Working It Out’s “Better Lives” project manager to better understand what it means to be ‘intersex’. Gather at your nearest WIO office to view the live online session as you enjoy some yummy morning tea – food for the brain and the stomach! The option to join online from home is available also.
