DEN Tour & EOFY Drinks: Morris Moor Urban Revitalisation Guided Tour

The Design Excellence Network for Local Government (DEN) welcomes you to join us on a guided tour of Morris Moor, a success story of urban revitalisation and precinct renewal, and our end-of-financial-year drinks with your favourite local government colleagues.

Morris Moor has a rich and fascinating heritage. Once a manufacturing factory, its spaces have been preserved and transformed into a hub for artisans, makers and creative thinkers, reinventing the site for a new generation. Originally the site of the Philip Morris tobacco factory, this collection of buildings once formed the industrial centre of Moorabbin. One of the largest employers in the area, the factory had around 800 employees at the height of production. With the construction completed in 2021, Morris Moor revitalisation has won both the 2022 Good Design Australia Awards: Award for Architectural Design – Place Design and the 2022 Australian Institute of Landscape Architects: Winner in Victoria, Landscape Architecture – Urban Design.

This event will commence with a guided tour hosted by Up Property, the developer and property management of Morris Moor. The project team will also deliver a brief presentation to share the project’s history and the lessons learned from the design and development process. At the end of the tour, we invite you to join us and your favourite local government colleagues for DEN’s End of Year Drinks.
