Denis Smith - Light the Maker SALA Exhibition Opening

Light painting artist Denis Smith brings his luminous, hand-crafted portraits to OmMade Meet The Maker in Adelaide Arcade as part of this year’s SALA Festival. Marking a creative return of Denis’s light painting practice to Adelaide. The exhibition features portraits of makers from the OmMade collective, captured using the incredible light painting technique — a deeply hands-on process that reflects the care and intentionality of the makers he photographs.

The exhibition explores the transfer of energy — from artist to subject, maker to object, and object to the person who takes it home. Just as the artisans pour love and meaning into their creations, Denis wraps each subject in light, creating images that hold presence, emotion, and warmth.

The opening night, will be full of love, light and laughs. Denis will be demonstrating the techniques used in the exhibition, and you will have the chance to meet the makers.
